Holiday in the Park is the official start of the holiday season in South Haven.
The festivities begin with the Santa Paws Parade. The parade of holiday-clad dogs and their owners (sponsored by Al-Van and Decadent Dogs) travel from Riverfront Park down Phoenix Street to Dyckman Park, every year. A very good time.
At the park, people enjoy roasting marshmallows and eating s’mores, and have their photos taken with Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves. Shortly afterward, the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at city hall (across the street). Skating at the ice rink under the Huron Street Pavilion next to Dyckman Park.
Hundreds of luminaries lining Phoenix Street, courtesy of people honoring their loved ones as part of the Caring Circle fundraiser, add a festive glow to the festivities.
Take advantage of fantastic deals at local shops and boutiques where you can do some gift shopping or maybe find something special for yourself. Enjoy the magical feel of the holiday season with your loved ones in downtown South Haven. We have dog friendly rooms and plenty of holiday spirit.
